Regina Elrod Wathen
Paralegal & Firm Administrator
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Regina grew up throughout the sunny, hospitable southeast. She’s the oldest of four children and has extended family in Mississippi. Her educational background includes undergraduate studies at Middle Tennessee State University (B.A., English, 1997) and a certificate in paralegal studies from Auburn University, 2005.
Regina has a decade of experience in civil litigation and is highly regarded for structured case management, attention to detail and her savvy research skills. Having worked with both plaintiff and defense law firms, she has managed hundreds of cases throughout Alabama, Georgia and Hawaii, including cases involving worker’s compensation, motor vehicle accidents, personal injury, wrongful death, and dram shop litigation. She’s assisted in numerous jury trials, most of which resulted in a substantially favorable outcome for the client.
After relocating from Hawaii to Northern Virginia in 2009, Regina decided to switch gears and pursue her interests in family law. Her personal experience with family matters combined with years of professional litigation experience enables her to provide clients specialized services with skill, understanding, and compassion. She’s worked with Maureen A. Kersey since April 2010, and has been very instrumental in launching the new firm. She is both the firm’s paralegal and business administrator.
In her spare time, Regina enjoys fitness, travel, the outdoors and attending her son’s sporting events. She is married to Lt. Colonel Alexander M. Wathen, Sr.(Ret.).
